Independent Artist Andrew Shapiro’s “Airbox” in Japanese Volkswagen Commercial

Andrew Shapiro is a composer, songwriter and erstwhile TED Talk presenter, living in Brooklyn NY. His song “Airbox”, from the album Invisible Days was just placed in a Volkswagen commercial. Congrats, Andrew!

“Last year, I was chatting with an Australian A&R guy about my frustrations trying to get my music to radio, and out to [music] supervisors. Then, he told me about Play MPE…it’s really helped me,” Shapiro says.

Shapiro’s album Invisible Days was distributed to 2 of Play MPE’s 261 curated and vetted distribution lists: Music Supervisors and “Non-Com” radio for North America. Of Play MPE’s 23542 unique recipients, 539 music supervisors and 1,531 radio programmers received Shapiro’s album and promotional assets.

His song “Airbox” was soon discovered by a music supervisor, and Shapiro garnered a much sought after synchronization placement in a Volkswagen Japan commercial.

“I’ll definitely keep using PlayMPE for distribution,” Shapiro continues. “There are so many ways to use the service…If I want to promote a solo piano single in New Zealand next time around…no prob…and hey, that may very well be my next adventure!”

We love an awesome success story like this one. We look forward to hearing more great things from Andrew, and other indie artists loving all that global reach.
