Dear music buffs,
We know you’re in the know when it comes to what’s hot on the current music scene. But just in case you aren’t able to keep on top of every single new release (who can?!) we like to help out by highlighting a can’t-miss from time to time. Especially when that track happens to be from the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) 2020 Grand Prize Winner!
To that end – we are excited to share with you about the winner – or rather winners – multi-platinum selling folk/pop duo Smith & Thell! Their brand new single “Planet Mars” has just been released across the globe via Play MPE, as part of their music promotion distribution prize. Maria Smith gave us some insights about what the song means to them and what its origins were.
“‘Planet Mars’ is a song about really wanting a relationship to work, but realizing you’ve grown apart to the point where the distance between you is galaxies. About having the desire to communicate with the one you’ve loved so much, but feeling like your words keep getting lost in translation. It’s about wanting to change who you are just to make it work. A dystopian love song about being alone in the great blank space, wishing you could travel to each other’s strange planets one more time.”
